Happy holidays to us! The superstar collective Gone Is Gone have made their musical return with a new song called "No One Ever Walked on Water" that can be heard below.

The group, featuring Mastodon's Troy Sanders, Queens of the Stone Age's Troy Van Leeuwen, At the Drive In's Tony Hajjar and Sencit Music founder Mike Zarin, first arrived on the scene with 2016's self-titled EP followed by their stellar debut Echolocation the next year. But given their respective responsibilities with other acts, shows have been few and far between.

Gone Is Gone's music has always had a cinematic quality to it, and "No One Ever Walked on Water" continues in that vein. The track slow grooves its way along, bolstered by fuzzed out guitar heaviness and Sanders' dark and ominous vocal delivery. However, the crushing heaviness does pull back occasionally for some dreamy Pink Floyd-esque moments.

Take a listen to "No One Ever Walked on Water" in the player below and if you like what you hear, you can pick up the track via the platform of your choosing here.

Though no official announcement has come concerning new music, the arrival of the new song is a positive sign that the four piece has found time in their respective schedules to continue working on something new. Stay tuned to see what 2020 brings.
