Highway 200 west of Lincoln Shut Down Due to Barricaded Man
Highway 200 west of Lincoln towards Missoula was closed as of 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday as Lewis and Clark Sheriff’s deputies responded to an armed man who has barricaded himself in a residence.
Lewis and Clark County Undersheriff Brent Colbert told KGVO News that the incident began at about 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
“Right now it’s an ongoing situation,” said Colbert. “There is one person in the house, and the incident started at about 5:30 this morning, and it has turned into a situation where the man has barricaded himself in his home, and we’re trying to negotiate with this person right now.”
Colbert said the reason for the situation is unknown, but it began after a call to the sheriff’s office ‘for some information’ and it grew from there.
Colbert said the armed man is alone in the residence and sheriff’s deputies are negotiating with him.
The Montana Highway Patrol has closed Highway 200 west of Lincoln at this time.
KGVO will update the situation when the information becomes available from the Lewis and Clark Sheriff’s Office.
