One Dead, One Wounded in Lincoln County Campground Shooting

Just before 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a report of shots fired at the Alexander Creek Campground near Libby.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies and the Libby volunteer ambulance responded to the location where they found one man shot to death and a woman with multiple gunshot wounds.

The female victim was treated at the scene and then transported via Life Flight to a hospital.

Detectives processed the scene of the shooting while a multi-agency search was initiated for the suspect, identified as Garry Douglas Seaman.

At about 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 22, Seaman was arrested near his residence in Flathead County.

The investigation is ongoing, and the names of the shooting victims have not yet been released.

Their families were notified by detectives from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
