Hiker Airlifted Out of Bitterroot After Tick Bite
So far this season, I have found at least 3 ticks on me. Thankfully I have discovered them before they had a chance to bury their faces into my skin. But, this past Sunday, a woman on a hike in the Bitterroot was not so lucky.
According to NBC Montana
A Hamilton woman had to be airlifted from a trail in the Bitterroot after being bitten by a tick on Sunday.
Jackie Doyle was hiking with her friend Lance Jones up Sleeping Child Trail in the Bitterroot Valley, when suddenly she felt an intense pain on her breast followed by nausea.
Jackie said they started back to the trail head after the symptoms first started, but she began vomiting every 4 minutes. Something was seriously wrong, and she needed medical attention quick.
The Hamilton Fire Department showed up, and Two Bear Air Rescue lifted her into the sky. Jackie says she is "okay, but still not feeling well."
