Volbeat is set to rock your faces off this Tuesday for our Blaze Backyard BBQ. Michael Poulsen called into the Rockstar Radio Show to chop it up about the show and Missoula.

First, let's take things back to 2011 when Volbeat first stopped in Missoula. America really didn't know about these Danish rockers, but we sure did. I was hooked from their very first riff, and I've been a die-hard fan ever since. I had heard they were booking small-ish club shows, and knew we had to get them in Missoula.

We partnered up with Knitting Factory to bring them to Missoula, and they were gracious enough to give me/my show the "presents", which is a really big deal for a small market radio jock. The show was announced and tickets were only $20. Yup. $20 to see Volbeat in Missoula.

With only weeks of the show being announced, The Volbeat management called in complete surprise. We were outselling every other market including Seattle. They had never heard of Missoula and wanted to know how the hell we were selling this show out so fast. Listen to the voicemail below:

Fast forward to August 2011. This time my birthday was coming up, and I want only one band to play. Once again we booked Volbeat as a "Rockstar Radio Presents" and again they were blown away. By now, they were hooked on Missoula.

I've been blessed to work at some killer other radio stations across the U.S. and everywhere I went, the band was always gracious enough to grant me an interview and photo opportunities. I can't tell you how stoked I am to have them back in Missoula. This time it's for our huge Backyard BBQ with special guests Halestorm (another band that we helped kickstart right here in our small little mountain town).

Lead singer, Michael Poulson was gracious enough once again to talk about the show in this interview below

It goes without saying, get your tickets. Now. You do not want to miss the concert of the summer. Huge thanks to Michael for once again giving us his time here at the Blaze. It's been a hell of a ride, and it's not stopping anytime soon.

Horns Up!
