The snowy ski runs of Showdown Montana provided the perfect backdrop for a new family-friendly movie that is now available on streaming platforms!

Powder Pup was partly filmed at Montana's first ski resort in March 2022.

About Powder Pup

The feature film, which has been in the works for more than seven years, is about a 16-year-old boy named Shaun from sunny Southern California.

Life takes a wild turn when his dad drops the bombshell: they're ditching the waves for Montana's snow-covered peaks.

Talk about a plot twist!

But hey, every cloud has a silver lining, and Shaun's is as fluffy as they come.

Enter Bodie, the real MVP of this snow-capped saga.

He's not your average pooch - this English Bulldog's got skills, especially when it comes to shredding on a snowboard.

Meet The Snowboarding Dog

Walter is the real-life snowboarding and skateboarding sensation who brings Bodie to life on screen.

Hailing from Las Vegas, this pup's got more tricks up his sleeve than you can shake a snowboard at.

Just try hiding that board from him – he'll sniff it out faster than you can say "powder day!"

Actors From Montana

Montanans may even see some familiar faces in the movie.

Actress Maiah Wynne, who plays Kayla in the film, graduated from high school in Missoula.

Powder Pups producers cast some Great Falls residents and Showdown regulars as background performers.

You may have noticed former Great Falls News Anchor Shannon Newth in the Trailer!
