Missoula’s Z100 2023 Guerrilla Turkey Drive Is Coming Soon
We are kicking off the season of holidays and giving. One of the more important events that we have at Townsquare Media is the 29th Annual Z100 Guerrilla Turkey Drive. Powered by TrailWest Bank, Missoula Electric Cooperative, Decker Truck Line, KPAX-TV, and Bitterroot Shedz. We will start colleting donations on Monday, November 13th and run through Friday, November 17th.
The Beginning of A Missoula Tradition
The Guerrilla Turkey Drive was started 29 years ago with "Craig and Al", Craig Johnson and Alan K on Z100. They were talking on the air about the local food bank's need for turkeys for Thanksgiving. A couple listeners stopped by the radio station, after they got off their overnight shift, and dropped off a couple frozen birds. That's how it all started.
The Missoula Turkey Tradition Continues
Here we are 29 years later, continuing the tradition of helping out food banks in Western Montana. This year we are hoping to be able to help out:
- Missoula Food Bank
- Mineral County Food Bank
- Pantry Partners in Stevensville, Montana
- Haven House in Hamilton, Montana
- The Darby Bread Box
- Missoula's Head Start
Western Montana Needs A Lot of Help This Year
This is where you can help. We are going to be collecting frozen turkeys and cash donations starting the morning of November 13th. Donations will be collected at our radio station at 3250 S Reserve St. Ste. 200 and this year we are happy to be teaming with Bitterroot Shedz as a Bitterroot Valley donation location. For those in the Bitterroot valley, there is no need to drive to Missoula if you want to donate.
Help 'Can The Cats' With A Turkey
Again this year, any turkey or cash donations that go to the Missoula Food Bank, will be added to the "Can The Cats" food drive. With your help we can try to make sure everyone in Western Montana will at least have a turkey for Thanksgiving.
