Montana's tourist industry has been booming the last couple of years. We have seen evidence of that with campsites in Montana getting reserved months before the season even begins.  Camping in Montana was a topic at the last Montana Legislative Session. With the increase in people wanting to camp in Montana, there is a proposal for an RV park in Seeley Lake, Montana that is open for input.

Short-Term RV Park Being Considered in Seeley Lake, Montana

The "Lazy Acres" RV park proposal includes a 14 acre lot, to be subdivided and would accommodate 70 recreational vehicles. This short-term RV park would be located on the east side of Highway 83, near the Riverview Drive intersection. There are a variances to consider about this proposal and it is currently under a Missoula County subdivision review. According to the Missoula County Voice website here are the variances that are being reviewed:

  • One-way roads that do not meet the 26-foot standard

  • A road easement less than 60 feet wide

  • Trails that serve the RV park but are not alongside each interior road (two separate variances)

  • The width between RV park spaces being 25 feet rather than the required 30 feet

If You Can't Make the Meeting in Person You Can Comment Online

There has been one public meeting regarding this proposal and there will be another meeting this Thursday, August 10th at 2pm at Missoula County Courthouse Annex at 200 West Broadway in the Sophie Moises Room. If you can't make the meeting you can respond online with your comments and input.
