Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - In the early morning of March 23, 2024, a Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Corporal was patrolling East Missoula. He passed the Sha Ron Fishing Access Site and observed a vehicle parked there after hours. The corporal stopped his patrol vehicle and approached the occupied vehicle.

The vehicle was solely occupied by 44-year-old Kevin Kibler. The corporal explained to Kibler that the area was closed. Kibler said he understood and that he was waiting for someone. While having this discussion, the corporal utilized his flashlight and looked into the backseat of the vehicle.

According to court documents, the corporal observed a white bulbous pipe in plain view, which he recognized as a pipe used to ingest methamphetamine. Kibler admitted he was on probation, which was confirmed by the corporal.

The corporal asked permission to search the vehicle, which Kibler granted. The corporal located a small baggie of suspected methamphetamine in the center console area. Kibler was mirandized and admitted the baggie contained methamphetamine. Kibler admitted that he had just started using again approximately three days ago.
