Woman Breaks Back Into Missoula Hotel, Causes Severe Damage

Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On April 1, 2024, at approximately 11:15 PM, a Missoula Police Department Officer was dispatched to the Double Tree Hotel for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, the officer met with a male who stated he had a female in his room who was later identified as Julie Lamberson-Fisher. Double Tree staff indicated they wanted both individuals to be removed and trespassed from the hotel.

The officer responded to their room and Julie answered the door. The officer noted the room was messy and some furniture was broken inside. The officer told Julie that she needed to leave and was trespassed from the location. Julie left the hotel but remained in the area.

A few hours later, at 1:09 AM, Double Tree staff again contacted 911 and reported they believed Julie was back in the room she had been removed from. The officer responded and could hear the shower running inside the room.

The officer knocked and loudly announced his presence while Double Tree staff attempted to make a functional key card. The suspect would not answer the door. Additional law enforcement officers responded and went to the sliding door at the back of the room. The officer tried to open the door and the suspect’s hand reached from behind the curtains to grab it. The officer grabbed the suspect’s arm, placed her into handcuffs, and confirmed it was Julie.

Officers noted Julie appeared to be under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol due to her erratic behavior and difficulty walking. An officer took photographs of the hotel room and noticed extensive water damage in the bathroom where Julie had turned the shower head towards the ceiling and plugged the drain with towels. The officer observed water dripping from the ceiling in the hallway and the bathroom.

The officer also observed multiple broken glasses in the sink and that the telephone cord that was originally tucked under the carpet had been pulled up, causing the carpet to also be pulled up. Double Tree maintenance staff indicated they would need to assess the extent of the damage.

According to court documents, Julie admitted to breaking back into the hotel through the window. She was transported to the Missoula County Detention Facility and is currently being charged with felony burglary.
