Jerry Cantrell, John 5, Scott Ian + More Auction Items to Fight MS
Jerry Cantrell, John 5 and Scott Ian are just some of the high profile names auctioning their time and equipment for the Rock Against MS Foundation. The all-star auction features several one of a kind items and experiences up for grabs to support those who suffer from multiple sclerosis.
Among the highlights of the charity auction, which ends a week from today (Jan. 4), is a Schecter bass signed by Cantrell, John 5, Ian, Alice in Chains bassist Mike Inez, Ian's wife Pearl Aday and Dimebag Darrell's longtime girlfriend Rita Haney, which has an estimated value of $5,800.
Cantrell is also offering up a G&L Tribute Series Jerry Cantrell Signature Superhawk Guitar signed by all member of Alice in Chains. Estimated at a value of $5,000, the instrument was played at the NFC Championship halftime show in 2015 in Seattle.
Chickenfoot and ex-Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony has donated a Jack Daniels guitar, laminate and a poster from the Sammy Hagar and the Inner Circle tour signed by both he and Hagar. The package has an estimated value of $9,500.
And one of the more unique items up for grabs comes courtesy of Ramones drummer Marky Ramone, who will create a drum-head art piece and incorporate the winner's name into the artwork. To see all of the current live lot auctions, check out the site here.
The Rock Against MS Foundation is still in its beginning stages, with plans to provide services from a three grant resource system that provides daily care, quality of life needs and emergency funding, while assisting people with multiple sclerosis to live independent and full lives. Additionally, a brick and mortar facility dubbed The Rock House is in the planning stages, and will provide multiple free of charge programs and opportunities designed to heal the mind, body and spirit of all those whose lives have been affected by the disease.
