This summer Joe Satriani will hold his fourth annual G4 camp, and it coincides with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the writing, recording and performance of his Surfing with the Alien album. The event will be held July 24-28 at Asilomar Center in Carmel, Calif.

In addition to the legendary Satriani, there will be several other notable guitarists on hand. “I’m thrilled to have guitarists Phil Collen (Def Leppard) and Warren DeMartini (Ratt) joining Paul Gilbert (ex-Mr. Big) and myself for this year's G4 camp," Satriani says. "What an incredible lineup! Phil, Warren, and Paul are all virtuosos with a wide range of professional experience in the music world. Together, we look forward to sharing all of our musical knowledge with this year’s G4 campers.”

Collen says, "I'm thrilled and honored to be joining Joe on the G4 experience and I'm stoked to get to play with him and to share some of my experiences with all the attendees."

The G4 experience is designed for players and music lovers of all ages, interests and skill levels. Activities during the four-day program include daily workshops with Satriani, workshops with the other special guests, recording with producer John Cuniberti, nightly concerts and more.

One of those performances will include Stu Hamm and Jonathan Mover, Satriani's live band during Surfing with the Alien's original tour cycle. It will be the first time they'll be performing together since 1995. For more information and registration details, go to the official G4 experience site.
