Knights, Vendors, and Fire Shows in Missoula
Okay, Western Montana, your quest starts this fall. Missoulians will have a chance to storm the castle (aka the County Fairgrounds) September 20–21, 2025, when the inaugural Missoula Renaissance Festival arrives, bringing medieval mayhem.
We’re talking knights, live music, a fire show, a questionable amount of mead, and more vendors than you can shake a wooden sword at. You will see hand-forged blades, leather goods, fantasy art, and, likely, at least one elf hawking handmade soap.
Got kids? Great. Have you got a LARP crew? Even better. Do you still have a Halloween 2017 costume that sorta fits still? That’ll do. Costumes are not required! But, let’s face it, you do not want to be the only attendee in jeans at a Ren Fest.
WHEN:
Saturday 9/20: 10 AM–6 PM
Sunday 9/21: 10 AM–5 PM
Where: Missoula County Fairgrounds (1101 South Ave W)
This isn’t some medieval cosplay hangout. It’s an immersive time-traveling experience with entertainment, lords, fortune tellers, blacksmiths, and food that wafts with the promise of enough flavor that you’ll abandon your modern morals and eat with your hands. (Bring on the GIANT Turkey Legs!)
If you like fantasy and history or have to do something other than watch Netflix while wearing sweatpants, this is your weekend. Tickets are available now here.

Arrive early, be there all day, and remember to say “Huzzah” each time you lift a drink. It’s Ren Fest law.
Now to decide whether I go as a pirate, a court jester, or maybe I could dress up like Shrek! Either way, there will be plenty of "merriment."
