Leak and Septic Issue Led to Clinton Elementary Flooding This Morning
It was a soggy, slightly-stinky day at Clinton Elementary today after staff noticed flooding in the building.
"About 5:00 a.m. I got a phone call from my head cook that we had some water leaks in the kitchen and the basement and so, by the time I got out here, we were dealing with a water leak and a septic issue," said District Superintendent Tom Stack. "Currently we are working with Dayspring Restoration, Sweat Pea Sewer and Septic, and The Missoula Health Department to remedy this situation as quickly as possible."
Stack says there was a “little bit” of a smell in the school because of the leak and septic problem, but that the health service was working quickly to rectify any potential health issues. Parents were notified of the closure via a voice messenger application this morning, May 2.
Stack says a decision will be made this evening on whether or not school will be open Wednesday. That message will go out to parents through the messenger app as well.
