Lita Ford Invites 12-Year-Old Girl Onstage for ‘Kiss Me Deadly’ Duet
There's no doubt that "Kiss Me Deadly" is considered Lita Ford's signature song. But one lucky 12-year-old may have got her own signature moment in the spotlight when the former Runaway rocker invited the child onstage to join in a performance of the catchy 1988 solo cut during a concert in California.
That's right, young Helena Harris received the cherished appearance alongside Ford last week (Aug. 31) at live music venue the Canyon north of Los Angeles. Watch the fan video toward the bottom of this post.
"Singing Kiss Me Deadly with Lita Ford at the Canyon in Santa Clarita California on August 31, 2019," Harris wrote of the experience when sharing the heartwarming video on YouTube. "Had a blast! Check it out."
The studio version of "Kiss Me Deadly" was first issued on Ford's third solo album, Lita. Of course, longtime rock listeners will also remember the release for its collaboration with Ozzy Osbourne, "Close My Eyes Forever." At the time, Ford was managed by Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy's wife and business partner.
And while Ford initially rose to prominence with her Runaways bandmate Joan Jett, the musician said last year that she doesn't expect herself and the Blackhearts bandleader to again "ever work together."
