Like we needed another sign that spring has officially arrived in Montana, the bears are awake.

A&E recently shared an old Live PD clip from Missoula County featuring footage from western Montana. Honestly, it still sucks that the show got canceled because some of those episodes perfectly captured how weird life out here can get.

And this one definitely qualified.

THE BEAR KINDA MOVED INTO THE HOUSE

The video showed Missoula County deputies responding to reports of an aggressive black bear that had practically claimed a family’s property. Which is honestly terrifying until you remember this is Montana, where conversations like “there’s a bear in the yard” get almost the same reaction as “the neighbor’s dog got loose again.”

Fast forward to later that same night, the MCSO got called to a 150lb bear in a tree outside St. Patrick's Hospital.

Bear Season Returns To Montana

The resurfacing of this clip also comes after bears have already started making headlines around the region. A lot of people are paying attention after the recent deadly bear attack in Glacier National Park and another encounter reported in Yellowstone National Park.

That is the thing about spring in Montana. Tourists start showing up, thinking they just entered some peaceful nature documentary, while locals are over here reminding people not to leave coolers, dog food, or beef jerky sitting in the car overnight.

The wildlife here is not always cute and cuddly. And bears do not care that you are on vacation.

Montana Knows The Drill

Most Montanans already know the routine this time of year. Carry bear spray. Stay alert on trails. Make noise while hiking. Do not try taking selfies with wildlife because you saw somebody doing it on TikTok.

And if a black bear suddenly decides your house looks cozy, well… that is what Fish, Wildlife, and Parks is for. Unless your dream is to be on a live cop show on basic cable.

LOOK: Here Are 30 Foods That Are Poisonous to Dogs

To prepare yourself for a potential incident, always keep your vet's phone number handy, along with an after-hours clinic you can call in an emergency. The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center also has a hotline you can call at (888) 426-4435 for advice.

Even with all of these resources, however, the best cure for food poisoning is preventing it in the first place. To give you an idea of what human foods can be dangerous, Stacker has put together a slideshow of 30 common foods to avoid. Take a look to see if there are any that surprise you.
