Each winter, the only wishes of many Montanans are for lots of snow, and for the ski resorts to open. Especially this year when it's hit or miss when it comes to businesses being open. Lost Trail has announced they will open this Thursday, December 3rd, for the season. The plan is to stay open through Sunday, April 4th, but like most businesses, they will play it by ear depending on what's happening with COVID.

They would like to remind anyone who plans to visit to check out their Covid-19 policy on their website. Face coverings are required in ALL lines, including indoors and outdoors, getting on and off the lift, and all ticket lines. They also insist that you arrive together and ride together. You've learned to stay within your family pod this year, I think you can handle it.

If you've never been to Lost Trail, it's south of Hamilton, so a drive through the Bitterroot, about 80 miles, or an hour and a half from Missoula. It's at 7,000 feet on the border of Montana and Idaho with five double chair lifts and three rope tows. They're open Thursdays through Sundays and all major holidays. So this may be a great socially distanced option to enjoy the outdoors during the Christmas break.

Lost Trail reported an inch of snow on Monday (11/30) but unfortunately, Western Montana's extended forecast doesn't really call for snow until December 11th. Gotta say, it was pretty weird to pick up our Christmas tree in sunny, dry weather over the weekend.

How about a coupla freebies? Text the word POWDER using your Alt 101.5 app or 96.3 The Blaze app to get into our drawing for two lift tickets. We'll announce our winner on Monday, December 21st, hopefully we'll get some of the white stuff by then!
