Major Changes Are Coming To Caras Park In Missoula
By this time next year, Caras Park could be looking a lot different than it is right now.
That's because starting in the fall, work is going to begin on renovations at the park, to transform it from a seasonal event space into something that people can visit all year round.
It sounds like a pretty major overhaul, too. Among the first changes are plans to rebuild the concrete amphitheater, replace the hill with a flat lawn, and improve the lighting and power infrastructure for the increasing amount of food trucks that have been occupying the space. They'll also be widening the riverfront trail, similar to what they did on the new Beartracks Bridge.
And that's not all - from there, they're hoping to add a plaza for the farmer's market, install new restrooms, add formal access points for the river, and they're even looking into a new ice-skating ribbon.
So yeah, that's a lot of stuff! And since they'll be doing this largely in the fall, it should be during the off-season at Caras Park - so they won't be interrupting any beerfests, concerts, or other events with the construction. Hopefully, we'll be able to see at least some of the final product by the time next year rolls around, and then from there we'll probably be seeing more events happening at the park all year long.
Are you excited to see what the changes have in store for the future of Caras Park?
