McDonalds is Making Some Huge Changes in All Montana Locations
I found myself having a "back in my day" talk with friends recently. I was reminiscing about the days when McDonald's had $ .25-cent burgers on Wednesdays and $ .50-cent cheeseburgers on Sundays. Those days quickly became my favorite days of the week. Now, we fast forward to today and you cannot even find a single menu item at McDonalds for under $1. Much like everything in life, things evolve and change.
Just take a look at these discontinued McDonalds menu items.

Mcdonald's is making another big change to all locations in Montana.
According to The Associated Press
The Chicago-based fast food chain plans to eliminate self-service soda machines at its U.S. restaurants by 2032, McDonald’s confirmed this week. It’s unclear if locations outside the U.S. will follow suit. McDonald’s USA said the goal of the change is to create consistency for customers and crew members across the chain’s offerings — from in-person dining to online delivery and drive-thru options.
What is the reason for this big change?
McDonalds has always been about consistency. It is safe to assume that the reason behind ditching the self-serve option for dine-in drinks is to make it easier for staff to keep track of orders and add to the standard operating procedure.
According to 247 Wall Street, there are 48 McDonalds locations in Montana. That is 4.5 restaurants for every 100,000 residents.
No word on when Montana locations will begin to phase out the self-serve option. But, soon you will be having another "back in my day" talk with friends about how you used to get your own refills.
