There are no winners and losers when it comes to the annual food drive competition between Griz and Cats fans......everybody wins when an incredible amount of donations are collected to help those in need. Although, after only coming out on top 3 of the previous 20 years, we can celebrate the fact that Missoula stepped up HUGE to take home bragging rights with this year's competition.

Wow! Look at that total! Last year we raised over 421K between food and funds. In the two weeks of this year's competition Griz fans came together to donate almost 250,000 more than we did in 2019. I'll be honest - I had to do a double take when I first saw the totals. That is an amazing number - especially given the hardships that a lot of people have experienced this year. Donations will not only go to helping a lot of people enjoy a Thanksgiving meal this year, but it will also help the Missoula Food Bank provide for those in need as we enter an uncertain 2021.

Every dollar that was pitched in, every extra item purchased at the store, every turkey dropped off, and every unwanted can rounded up from the back of Griz fans' pantries.........every bit raised will stay local. The big increase in donations couldn't have happened at a better time. The food bank has seen a big increase in the number of families and individuals that are needing their services.

Congrats to both Griz and Cats fans for another successful competition that will benefit so many across Montana. As for us in Missoula......once you win a fourth automatically start looking forward to winning a fifth. Right? Let's bring it home again next year and get a winning streak started!
