What is there to say about graffiti? You see it everywhere. From bathroom stalls to train cars. Graffiti is part of the urban landscape. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I like seeing some of the cool stuff that graffiti artists come up with. Some of it is classy and well done. Heck, one of the most notorious artists in the world is a graffiti artist. Ever heard of Banksy?

There is a huge difference between art and simply defacing property.

According to EDEN Gallery

A distinct signature is known as a “tag”, and the artist is referred to colloquially as a “tagger”. Tagging is the original and simplest form of graffiti; it is also the most common and can be seen in cities worldwide.

Graffiti may seem like a modern 20th-century art phenomenon. But tagging in its most basic form has been around for centuries.

It appears a certain "tagger" has been vandalizing property in downtown Missoula for years now. Owners of the popular downtown bar, Bodega, have had enough of their property being defaced on an annual basis. So they reached out to social media to try and figure out how to stop it.

According to Bodega's message on social media

We would love to be able to identify this gem. The annual tagger has returned to deface the front of the Bodega and The Import Market. $100 bar tab to anyone who can identify this guy.

Bottomline, business owners in Missoula would like it if graffiti artists stopped tagging and vandalizing private property. As some might appreciate it as art, others see it as an eyesore.

Contact Bodega Bar on Facebook or stop in if you have a tip on whoever may be tagging downtown businesses. Could land a $100 bar tab.
