There’s something about Halloween falling on a Friday night this year that Missoula just knows how to do right. The Dark Horse is bringing back the Grotesque Burlesque Carnival of Flesh, a Halloween party featuring metal, sideshow insanity, and burlesque that’ll have your jaw on the sticky bar floor.

Burlesque Meets Metal Mayhem

This is not your average costume party. The night teeters between live metal bands and sultry, freaky burlesque shows courtesy of The Illustrated Circus Burlesque & Sideshow. One minute you’re headbanging to Blessiddoom or A Balance of Power, the next you’re watching feathers and sequins flying everywhere. Throw Ceres on the bill, and you’ve got an evening of local heavy hitters and lace.

Wheel of Misfortune and Costume Contest

And no carnival would be complete without a game of chance. Step right up to the Wheel of Misfortune! A game where prizes are on the line, but so is your dignity. And because it’s Halloween in Missoula, the costume contest is going to be a banger. Bring your A-game, because the competition is fierce, the judges are cutthroat, and the prizes demand creativity. You might even have to show a little skin.

Flesh, Gore, and Drink Specials

It all goes down at the Dark Horse on Friday, October 31st. Doors swing open for the 21+ crowd, and admission is just $10. Expect drink specials, buckets of red corn syrup, bone-crushing riffs, and enough adult fun to make your inner ghoul grin.

So throw on your costume, call your crew, and get ready for a Halloween night that mashes up all of your dreams with all of your fears.

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
