Missoula Children’s Theater Hosts Hilarious ‘Spongebob” Musical
There once was someone who "lives in a pineapple under the sea." He is said to be "Absorbent and yellow and porous is he." Of course, we are talking about the one and only "SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS."
Did you know "Spongebob Squarepants" is the longest-running animated show on Nickelodeon?
The animated hit show has been airing for over 20 years now meaning that some young parents may be sitting through the same theme music that they grew up listening to. If you have been around young kids over the past two decades then chances are you have seen an episode or two.
The Missoula Children's Theater is bringing Spongebob to life on stage.
What was once just a children's show has now become an award-winning Broadway musical receiving nearly a dozen Tony Award nominations. The Missoula Children's Theater is bringing Spongebob's crazy antics to Missoula this Spring.
Starting April 29th through May 15th, you can witness Spongebob along with his friends Patrick, Sandy, Squidward, Mr. Crabs, and even Plankton on the MCT stage. But, this isn't some foam mascot-style characters dancing on stage. The cast of the "Spongebob Squarepants Musical" are human recreations of the popular characters.
According to MCT
The show’s music score is loaded with original songs by David Bowie, Sara Bareilles, Steven Tyler, John Legend, Cyndi Lauper, Plain White T’s and many more talented artists, for which MCT plans for a live orchestra.
This sounds like a good time for kids young and old, as we have all enjoyed "Spongebob" over the last 20 years.
