The Missoula County Attorney’s office filed 16 new criminal complaints this past week, including two assault with a weapon charges against a woman accused of hitting two pedestrians with her car near Chief Charlo Elementary. Sadly, that was just one of many assault cases handled by the county.

“There were two partner/family member assaults: in one a 19-year-old girl allegedly assaulted her mother and in another a young man allegedly assaulted his father," said Missoula County Attorney Kirsten Pabst. "There was an assault with a weapon case and one sexual intercourse without consent filed.”

There were also a handful of property crimes, including two substantial theft cases.

“One of the thefts involved the allegation that the person was in possession of a stolen vehicle," Pabst said. "There was an exploitation of an elder person complaint filed and the allegation there is that the defendant took $2500 from an elderly man that she was caring for.  There was a criminal mischief and obstruction case as well as a couple of endangerment cases.”

There were also a fair number of drug cases, mostly meth related, the most high profile of which, resulted in a vehicle chase through Missoula that ended near the intersection of Brooks and Russell, but then turned into a foot chase.
