Missoula Crime Report: Two Homicides and One Rape Case This Week

The Missoula County Attorney’s Office charged 19 new felony complaints this week, which is three more than last week. According to County Attorney Kirsten Pabst, one of those cases was a deliberate homicide.

“In that case, the defendant was charged with intentionally running over his girlfriend and she succumbed to her injuries,” Pabst said. “We charged several other partner or family member assault cases. In fact, we charged six cases involving interpersonal violence, which is 60% of the overall violent crime.”

Pabst said her office also charged a man with assault with a weapon.

“In that case, the allegation was that he attacked the employee of a convenience store with a hammer,” Pabst said. “We also charged another attempted deliberate homicide that was referred to as a road rage incident. The man allegedly shot a baretta out of his window and towards another person who had been driving.”

Pabst said she didn’t like that case being classified as a road rage incident. She said it was really an attempted deliberate homicide and that is the charge the defendant is facing. They also charged a robbery case.

“In that case, the defendant allegedly tried to strong arm robbery a UPS truck,” Pabst said. “There was the sexual intercourse without consent case that you reported on. Additionally, in the endangerment category, there was a DUI and a criminal endangerment. There was a burglary case. There was a theft case that involved the allegation that the defendant stole over $8,000 of camping equipment.”

In addition, Pabst said there were two new drug cases and one escape case, which was an attempted walk away from Missoula’s Pre-Release Center.
