Calling all Dogs and Owners! Missoula Hosting Inaugural Pet Run
If you're a dog lover you probably include your four-legged friend in as many of your daily activities as you can. And if that's the case, this event is pretty much catered to you! It's a day for you and your dog to not only spend together but also compete together. The Big Sky Horse Park and Missoula Horse Council are presenting the inaugural Pet Run coming up on May 7th.
The Humane Society of Western Montana will be on hand for a day of racing with prizes, vendors, pet portraits, and more. Bring your dog, your friends, and your family to enjoy a day of fun highlighted by 3km and 6km courses that were developed with the help of Run Wild Missoula. You can win prizes by running the courses (one dog per person) in competitive and timed events.
To be honest, I've never heard of the Big Sky Horse Park but it sounds like a pretty cool place.
The Big Sky Horse Park, located at the heart of Missoula County, is beautifully maintained and actively preserved by a board of equestrian focused volunteers — all of whom are also dog owners! The Horse Council leases this space from the county, so it is always at the risk of disappearing or being replaced. Even though equestrian activities at the park are seasonal, the park is open year-round for walkers, joggers and dogs — they hope this event brings all of those who use the space together in support!
The cost to participate in the Pet Run is $25 for Big Sky Horse Park members and $40 for non-members. If you're interested, registration is open and you can sign up HERE.
