Missoula Police Department Bicycle Auction
Ever wonder what happens to your bike when it's stolen and then abandoned? Those bikes are gathered up by the city and taken to the police station until the rightful owner comes to claim them. If nobody claims the bikes, they move on to the MPD Bicycle Auction.
The next auction will be held Wednesday, August 23rd at Gardener's Auction, 4810 Highway 93 South. Viewing begins at 9 a.m. until the auction begins at 4:30 p.m. Bikes will then be sold at 5:30 p.m.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to pick up a new-to-you bike at a fantastic price, or to recover a bike you've lost or had stolen. In the past, the money raised from the auction went to various local bicycle programs including the bike pick up and storage for the auction, and the mayor's free bike light initiative. Cash and cards will be accepted at the auction.
