Montana Brewery Turns Into Medieval Fight Arena

Good news: If you’ve ever wanted to sit down with a cold beer and watch some dudes smack each other with swords. Your oddly specific dream is about to come true.

Lolo Peak Brewery is putting on MMA Medieval Battle, and it’s everything you would hope it to be. Middle-aged warriors in full gear fighting in medieval combat while I casually slurp the barley pop on the patio.

This isn’t cosplay. This is Medieval MMA. Real steel. Real hits. Real bruises. It’s loud, it’s chaotic, and it’s one of the most entertaining ways to burn a summer afternoon in Western Montana.

It’s happening on Saturday, June 21, 2025, starting at 12:00 PM. Tickets are $36 (which include a meal), and you can grab yours on Eventbrite.

There’s something about drinking good beer while watching a knight swing an axe to defeat another knight in combat. Clashing steel on steel (and also a cheer for the knight with the red flag). Think MMA meets King Arthur.

Much like my favorite scene of the Jim Carey classic, "Cable Guy."
