Montana doesn’t get represented on TV cooking competitions very much. We’re probably more famous for elk steaks off the grill and deer chili in a Crock-Pot. That changes on September 25th when Red Lodge’s Chase Cardoza steps into the blast furnace that is Hell’s Kitchen: Battle of the States.

Ramsay vs. Montana

If you’ve ever watched Gordon Ramsay in action, you know the man doesn’t exactly hand out participation trophies. He yells, he curses, and he has fully grown chefs weeping after he calls them a "DONKEY.". Now Montana’s about to get tossed into that kitchen fire, with a hometown guy repping the Treasure State.

Chase isn’t just another tourist chef passing through. A son of Red Lodge, this Montana native is bringing a little Big Sky country to Ramsay’s rodeo. Season 24 of Hell’s Kitchen is an all-out state-vs-state competition as chefs fight to show their home turf rules.

Why It’s A Big Deal

Let’s face it: how often do we get to say Montana is on the national food map? Not often. When it is, all people can talk about is bison burgers and huckleberry everything. Chase is bringing his best dishes and skills to the table to prove Montana has what it takes to compete in a culinary civil war.

And does Ramsay really think a chef from Red Lodge can be intimidated? Good luck. You don’t survive a Montana winter without a pretty solid handle on heat in the kitchen.

When Can We Watch the Cooking Throwdown?

The season kicks off September 25th, and you better believe Montana will be watching. Whatever the outcome, it’s good to see Chase putting the 406 on the culinary map. I have been a fan of this show for decades, and I'm excited to cheer on a Montana contestant.
