Montana Warning After Chocolate Recall for Male Enhancement Drug
There’s a recall going around right now that sounds like your buddy made it up at deer camp after a couple of beers. Except this one is very real. The FDA is issuing a warning to people across the country, including here in Montana, about two chocolate products sold nationwide. The products, Gold Lion Aphrodisiac Chocolate and ilum Sex Booster, were recalled after testing showed that they contained sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra.
Not what most of us are looking for when we reach for something sweet.
Not Quite What it Says on the Wrapper
Here’s where it crosses the line from a weird headline to something more serious. These chocolates were promoted similarly to supplements, but they did not clearly say anywhere on the label that it contained a prescription-level drug. Why does that matter? Sildenafil can interact with some medications, especially those for heart conditions, and lead to dangerously low blood pressure. So, although the internet is laughing it off, the FDA is treating this as a legitimate health concern.
Which is probably the right move.
How This Stuff Gets to Montana
Many of those products were sold online, potentially shipped anywhere, including right here. And to be fair, there are plenty of folks in Montana who have clicked “add to cart” on something questionable at some point. No judgment. But this is a good reminder that not everything called a supplement is as good as it sounds.
Especially if it arrives in chocolate form.
What You Should Actually Do
If you have any of this product, the FDA says to stop using it and return it. Simple as that. And perhaps treat this as a general guideline moving forward. If something is being pitched as a “special” type of chocolate, and the claims are just a touch too specific, it’s probably worth a second review before you eat it.
You don't want to walk around looking like tiny people are putting up a circus tent in your pants all day.
The Takeaway
There are interesting food choices to be found in Montana. Gas station jerky, mystery burritos, anything left on that roller grill a little too long. But there’s something new: Chocolate with ED drugs. Not exactly the kind of surprise anyone was waiting for, and certainly not what you want sneaking into your snack stash.
