Okay, we know. Way-too-early polls don't mean much. But just in case you need one more reason to hope for actually having a season, here ya go!

It’s never too early to talk football, as HERO SPORTS released its 2020 Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Preseason Top 25 today (Wednesday). The Big Sky Conference had five teams recognized in the preseason poll.

The Big Sky led the way with four teams ranked in the top-10 of the polls, followed by the Missouri Valley with three. Sacramento State earned the No. 4 spot, followed by Weber State at No. 6, Montana at No. 7, Montana State at No. 9, and Eastern Washington at No. 18.

All five teams were ranked in the final Top 25 poll of the 2019 season. Sacramento State, Weber State, Montana, and Montana State all represented the Big Sky in the 2019 FCS Playoffs.

Let's assume pollsters dig into upcoming schedules to help determine teams' national rankings, and don't just base it on the previous year's body of work. It would appear the Montana Grizzlies do have a more favorable schedule in 2020 than in the last few seasons to establish a lofty ranking early.  That in spite of the fact that three of those Big Sky teams in the preseason poll, Sacramento State, Eastern Washington and Montana State, are on the schedule. Of those three only Eastern Washington is a road game.

So, way too early or not, here is what HERO SPORTS has to say:
