Netflix Saddles Up With ‘1883’ Global Release
It’s official. One of the all-time modern Western series is going global on Netflix. The beloved 1883, Yellowstone’s badass prequel, will be debuting the streaming monster around the globe. But have yet to bring it to the US because of the exclusive rights of Paramount. However, the entire origin story of the Dutton Ranch could be on your favorite streaming service.
This is the adventure to the west of the Dutton family, which (SPOILER) eventually lands in what becomes the famed Yellowstone Ranch in Montana. And it’s everything you love about the Yellowstone-universe!
Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Sam Elliott Saddle Up
If you havent seen it yet, it’s not a crappy prequel. 1883 stars the country music duo Tim McGraw and Faith Hill plus Sam Elliot and his majestic mustache. It’s not just star power. This is hailed as one of the best Westerns created in recent history. (Eat your heart out Lonesome Dove). It is the kind of show that makes you want to pack up your family and go buy a cow. And, with the hit prequel already streaming on Netflix in Canada, Germany and the UK, it is only a matter of time before we start having even more neighbors with funny accents.
Why Montana Fans Love This One
Although 1883 was filmed in several states, its plot is in Montana. It is the beginning of the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, the same fictional family that got Montana on screens around the world. It’s a nod to how tough people who make it to Montana need to be to survive. So, if you missed it on Paramount+, and forgot to pay your subscription, fire up the VPN and logon to Netflix UK. Saddle up and ride as Netlfix is bringing the birth of a Montana family to the world.
