There is probably a lot of head-shaking and "what just happened here" reactions in the University of Montana Athletic Department.

In a case of now-you-see-him-now-you-don't, Matt Troxel, a former Griz player, who accepted an offensive coordinator position at his Alma Mater in January, has had a change of heart and will be returning to Idaho State, where he served as an assistant coach from 2011 till 2016. Troxel accepted the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach position offered by new ISU head coach Rob Phenice, who Griz fans will remember as Montana's offensive coordinator a number of seasons ago.  In fact he coached Troxel when he played for the Griz in 2004-2007.

Coach Phenice was named Idaho State's head coach a few weeks ago, when Mike Kramer stepped down. Coach Troxel said Montana is a special place to him and it was very difficult to leave so soon. Well, okay.....

I don't think I want to look at all that eGriz venom that will be spewing over this. It can get pretty nasty.
