Heads up, Montana! Costco is closing its doors. Not forever, but for the full day, and yes, it’s every place in the state.

No samples. There are no massive packs of toilet paper. No cheap hot dogs. Just a sign on the door and a whole lot of baffled customers pulling into the parking lot and muttering, “Wait, what?”

Costco will close all Montana locations on Monday, the 26th of May. Yeah, that’s Memorial Day! Although the idea of Costco not being open on a holiday isn’t all that unusual, there are still a good number of people who don’t necessarily plan for the closure in advance. Especially if you didn’t get around to prepping for the weekend cookout.

All 5 Montana sites will be closed. Whether you’re coming in from the ranch, from the lake, or if you’re just doing some last-minute shopping for your cookout. You’re out of luck.

Costco tells us it will have a few online promotions throughout the long weekend, but if you are the sort of person who needs to see it, feel it, and compare 14 different brands of mayonnaise in person, Monday won’t work for you.

Plan. Shop early and fill your fridge with all the giant steaks, family-size coleslaw, and secret-recipe summer punch you can afford. Be sure to give the LOADED POTATO SALAD in the Costco Deli a try. This will be a must for any summer cookout.

Because come Monday, Costco will be quiet, the doors will be locked, and you’ll be sitting there wondering how you managed to forget buns for 18 people.
