And down goes another one! I was really hoping they would find a way for the Out to Lunch and Downtown ToNight events to happen at Caras Park this summer. A little under a month ago they announced that start dates for both events would be pushed back until June 17th and 18th. But, the hopes that the show would go on were dashed today when the Missoula Downtown Association announced they would be cancelling the 2020 schedule. I feel like I don't even need to mention that COVID-19 concerns are to blame for the cancellations. And I guess it wasn't a huge surprise since the annual Garden City Brewfest, also at Caras Park, was recently cancelled.

Yep, I feel like we knew it was probably going to come to this, right? Food vendors, live music, and a large gathering of people aren't exactly the foundation for successful events right now.

But, along with the bummer news of shelving the events this year, there was one positive takeaway. The Downtown Association gave details of a smaller event that will be held in Caras park. If we picture it in beer terms, I guess you can think of it as Out to Lunch Lite or Downtown ToNight Lite. Downtown Missoula Pop-Ups will begin at Caras park next week. There won't be the music or activities, but vendors will serve food as social distancing guidelines are followed.

Check out the Pop-Ups at Caras Park:
Tuesdays - 5 PM - 8 PM
Wednesdays - 11 AM - 2 PM
Thursdays from 5 PM - 8 PM
