Ozzy Osbourne Claims Marriage to Sharon Osbourne Is ‘Back on Track’
Earlier this year, it looked like Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s marriage was coming to an end. Despite Ozzy’s alleged affair with a hairdresser, the Black Sabbath icon has claimed in a brand new interview that his relationship with Sharon is “back on track.”
Ozzy and Jack Osbourne spoke with Good Morning America to promote the father and son’s new travel program, Ozzy and Jack's World Detour. The show premiered last night (July 24) with the Osbournes taking a trip around historic Jamestown, Va.
“It’s just a bump in the road. It’s back on track again,” Ozzy said about his marriage. “‘And they both lived happily ever after…’ I’d like to find the person who wrote that and poke him in the eye with a stick. Some days it’s good, some days it’s terrible, some days you just drift apart for a while, but you get back on the horse,” Ozzy explained. "You make mistakes and you learn by your mistakes, I think," he added.
In a separate interview with Goldmine, Ozzy responded to being told he remains a hero to many people. “That’s kind of nice. I wish I was a hero to me, sometimes. I do a good job of beating myself up,” Ozzy admits. Despite attending AA meetings since 2013, Osbourne did nearly have a slip-up while filming World Detour in Cuba. “We were in this restaurant and this guy goes, ‘Do you want to go upstairs and have a cigar?’ “We go into this private room and there are these bottles of f—ing rum everywhere,” Ozzy describes. “I thought to myself, ‘It wouldn’t be that bad.’ “Then I go to myself, ‘F— off – you’d start with the puff of a cigar and then a shot of booze.’ I said to my son, ‘I have to leave here.’”
He continued, “I hear all the time, people say they have another drink in them, but they may not have another sobriety in them. I don’t want to put myself in that situation ... I’ve said the wrong things and I’ve done the wrong things, but I’m human. These days I just try not to make the same mistake twice.”
Update: Sharon Osbourne confirmed her reconciliation with Ozzy during an episode of The Talk. "He's very embarrassed and ashamed about his conduct," Sharon began. "Through his shame and embarrassment he finds it hard to get it out ... I can't speak for him. But for me, um, yes, you know. I forgive. It's going to take a long time to trust but you know we've been together for 36 years, 34 of marriage, and it's more than half of my life ... I just can't think of my life without out him. Even though he is a dog. He's a dirty dog. So there we are. He's going to pay big."
Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour airs Sundays on the History Channel at 10PM/9PMc. For the remaining dates of Black Sabbath’s ‘The End’ farewell tour, click here.
