Rob Zombie Talks Squashing Feud With Marilyn Manson
Forget about all that the beef of 2012, because Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson are 100-percent cool again. Now that they’re doing their second incarnation of the Twins of Evil tour, even covering the Beatles’ “Helter Skelter” and performing it live together, Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie are giving horror rock fans the night of their lives… but how did the two musicians mend fences?
During the first Twins of Evil run, Zombie and Manson made their beef public while performing in Detroit. Manson first spewed animosity toward Zombie by saying, “I’m going to kick his ass,” onstage. The Antichrist Superstar was pissed that his set was cut short, telling the crowd he wished he had time to play more songs.
“Take a look at this,” Zombie said later in the night while pointing to his ass. “Does it look like it’s been kicked by anybody? We’ve toured with everybody: Pantera, Danzig, Megadeth, Testament, Slayer… you name it. It’s always been fucking great, but some tours do not fucking go together. Some people are just so full of shit, it drives you fucking crazy.”
We recently got on the phone with Rob Zombie to talk about Twins of Evil II. Naturally, we had to ask if Zombie and Manson truly had mended fences, and according to Rob, they did, a long time ago.
“I always knew we would do the tour again, because last time was great,” Zombie says. “There was one little incident and then we did the entire U.S., and then we did all of Europe together. So, the tour was great, especially the European part was really fantastic. So, we always knew we would do it together again. There was never any question, I don't think.”
Zombie continues, “By the end of the tour, it was great. Here's where I use my catch phrase. By the time [the incident] was news to the public, it was already old news to us. We stopped caring about anything that happened five years ago. There's no negative anything.”
The Twins of Evil II tour has gone smoothly, so far, so click here to check out the full list of upcoming dates.
