I'm not sure where I was on the day they were handing out talent when it comes to artistic abilities but I definitely got passed over. I'm always in awe when I see things that someone with any sort of art skills can produce. I'm even pretty envious of those guys that sit at the fair and whip out caricature drawings in 5 minutes and charge people $20 a pop. That's the dream gig right there! But of course, I can't draw to save my life. And I've never technically tried but I'll go ahead and guess that I wouldn't be so great at manufacturing animal art made out of metal either. But I saw some pretty amazing artwork on a Facebook post yesterday and thought it was worth sharing because of how awesome these pieces are!

The post was from a woman named Jen and she mentioned that she and her family had recently returned to the Missoula area. She included some pictures that showcased her husband's work that he does with wildlife sculptures and custom metal fabrication. Take a look below at a few of the pieces that Jesse Purdom has created.

The original Facebook post I was reading said that the elk that Jesse is working on in the picture above is currently in his shop and is available for purchase. If you're interested you can reach out to Jen and get more information. The post also mentioned that one of Jesse's bison creations was featured on a Discovery Channel show called Building Off The Grid. You can see the piece in the pictures below. Pretty cool!

And individual pieces aren't the only thing Jesse creates. Check out a few bigger projects like the sculpture and gate seen below.

LOOK: The story behind every NFL team name

Stacker delved into the story behind every NFL football team name. Overall team records, also included, are reflective of NFL regular-season games. There are some football teams with well-known nicknames—the Jets, for instance, are often referred to as Gang Green—but we also divulge how some teams’ official names are sparingly used (the Jets’ neighbors, the Giants, are actually known as the New York Football Giants). Sometimes a team name can tell you a lot about local history: The Vikings of Minnesota draw upon the area’s strong ties to Scandinavia, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are dripping in local legend related to Florida’s pirate past.

Let’s kick off the countdown with the folks who earned their nickname by buying boxes of used team jerseys.
