Cabelas is gearing up for their first annual "Shop With a Cop" event. On Saturday December 3rd, two elementary school students from Missoula will join Missoula Police for a shopping spree at our local Cabelas.

According to the official press release

Cabela’s Missoula store has partnered with the Missoula Police Department and Missoula Fresh Market on Brooks to provide a shopping experience for two select children from each Missoula Public School on Saturday, December 3rd. Each child will get to shop with a member of the Missoula Police Department including Chief Mike Brady. Not only that, but the children will get to take pictures with Santa and let him know what they would like for Christmas.

To help support our local first responders, Missoula Fresh Market has donated free lunch on December 3rd from 12p-4p and any member of law-enforcement, firefighter, and EMS personnel are invited.

Santa will be available for everyone, including adults, from 11:00am-3:00pm on Saturday and Sunday, December 3rd and 4th and again on December 10th and 11th. Media is invited to take pictures and video of Santa with customers in this unique setting.

Several great organizations were involved with the Shop with a Cop Program’s fundraising efforts. Cabela’s Missoula store has committed to donating gifts for the children and during Cabela’s Hometown Heroes Celebration several Missoula businesses contributed towards fundraising efforts. Missoula SportClips provided free haircuts for any monetary donation toward the program, as well as, Missoula Fresh Market grilled hot dogs to help raise funds, and local Pepsi distributors also donated drinks. In addition, the Missoula Police Association was generous enough to match the first $250 donated.
