Slipknot’s Jay Weinberg Left Emotional Note at Paul Gray’s Grave: ‘I Hope You’re Proud’
Slipknot are just two weeks out from releasing the highly anticipated We Are Not Your Kind. Though you're probably rocking in your seat right now waiting for its arrival, grab some tissues - Jay Weinberg left an emotional note at Paul Gray's grave on a drumstick.
A Reddit user posted a photo of the drumstick, which reads, "Dear Paul - I hope you're proud of the music we've created. Your presence guides this band in spirt + and sound. I think you'll dig the new record. At least I hope you do. All the respect and love in the world. We are not your kind. Long live the Knot - Jay."
According to another Reddit user, they had also seen the stick there a few weeks prior, so it is unclear when Weinberg placed it there. But it's nice to know that it hasn't been touched.
Gray was one of the founding members of Slipknot, known as "#2." He was found dead in his hotel room back in 2010. He was 38 years old.
