Small Idaho Town Becomes USA’s First “Dark Sky Reserve”
We are fortunate enough to live in a somewhat un-populated corner of the universe. At night when we look up, we can see stars. But, not as clearly as we can when we get outside of town. That is because of all the light pollution that all of the street lights and homes produce. If we were to limit the amount of light we produce each night, the sky would be much brighter.
That is what has happened in Stanley, Idaho. The Mayor has altered the town's light sources to limit the amount of pollution. Making Stanley, Idaho the first ever "DARK SKY RESERVE" in the United States.
