Several stores inside the Southgate Mall had already closed due to COVID-19 concerns, but now their doors are officially closed. In a Monday news release, Southgate Mall managers wrote that their top priority is protecting the health and safety of their guests, retailers, and employees.

Washington Prime Group is the owner of Southgate Mall. They released a statement saying all enclosed assets with an indoor common area will be shut down. However, any restaurant or food service offering carry out or delivery options are expected to remain open.

The measure went into effect Monday and they will reevaluate on March 29.
