Stolen Valor Video Shows What to Say at a Bar in Great Falls MT

If you have spent any amount of time searching for videos online. Chances are you have probably stumbled upon a few "Karen" videos. It seems that the internet is flooded with videos of people behaving badly. I must have done something to mess with my algorithm, because my social media feed is filled with nothing but Karen videos, re-runs of Dr. Phil, and the infamous "STOLEN VALOR" videos.

What is "Stolen Valor?"

Stolen Valor" is a term applied to the phenomenon of people falsely claiming military awards or medals they did not earn, service they did not perform, Prisoner of War experiences that never happened, and other tales of military actions that exist only in their minds.

 

Videos are all over the internet showing people pretending to have served in the military. Dressing up in incorrect uniforms and rehearsing false deployment stories. Why? Some people use stolen valor to take advantage of military discounts at businesses. Others do it to impress others. Some may just have mental health issues. Regardless, it is against the law to commit stolen valor.

According to Wikipedia

(The Stolen Valor Act of 2005) made it a federal misdemeanor to falsely represent oneself as having received any U.S. military decoration or medal. If convicted, defendants might have been imprisoned for up to six months, unless the decoration lied about is the Medal of Honor, in which case imprisonment could have been up to one year.

 

As serious as the issue is, a stolen valor video surfaced online recently that I couldn't help but laugh at. It is a video that has a familiar feel. Almost like the many different occasions when I spent a weekend partying in Great Falls, Montana. With Malmstrom Air Force base located nearby, there is never a shortage of what the locals call "Jetters" a.k.a Air Force Personnel.  I can only imagine with the amount of missiles serviced by the Air Force base, that this guy had to be from Montana.
