Surveillance Video Shows Lion Killing Deer in Family’s Backyard
We all remember the book "1984," and the phrase "big brother is watching you." What was once science fiction is now a reality. It is true, there are cameras everywhere watching your every move. With the increased popularity and affordability of home surveillance, it seems everyone has an eye on you.
Now we know the purpose of home surveillance systems. With technology now, a person can answer the door remotely through a Ring doorbell. This allows a person to not only see who is at the door but communicate with them over the phone. Other home security systems allow a person to remotely view 360 degrees around their home. Gives you peace of mind, no matter where you might be.
Surveillance systems clearly are bad news for burglars and thieves. But, what about wild animals?
As bears begin to wake up from their long winter's nap. Mountain lions have been on the prowl all winter long. As meals high in the mountain tops become few and far between for the giant cat. They begin to come down to lower elevations and take advantage of the spring thaw. Much like bears, mountain lions are not afraid of getting in close contact with human civilization. As many residents of western Montana have been reporting more and more bear and cat sightings as the weather continues to heat up.
Take the following video for example. A family in Newport, Washington recently captured a video of a large mountain lion hunting a small herd of deer. The video shows the speed and horror of a giant cat taking down its prey.
