Don't get me wrong, I thought as much as anybody that drive time was the perfect time to catch up on text messages.  I mastered one handed text driving, one hand on the wheel, one hand on the phone, and random glances at the road.  Doesn't take a genius to realize, this is very much not safe driving.

To put it into perspective, texting while driving is like driving after 4 beers.

Because you are taking your eyes off the road for an average of 5 seconds per text, at 55 mph it's like driving the length of a football field completely blind.

Texting while driving kills an average of 11 teenagers every single day.

So you think you're the master of texting and driving?  You suck at texting and driving, I promise.  When you choose to text and drive, you're putting MY family, friends, listeners and people I care about in the direct path of danger.  I'm not down with that. This is Missoula, it only takes ten minutes to get across town, your texts can wait, and YES red lights and stop signs count as texting & driving.

I don't usually lecture you guys about crap.  You know we're down like a clown for whatever.  But text driving is seriously becoming a problem in Missoula.
