The infamous fiberglass cow at Clearwater Junction, the cow that had directed drivers well before GPS existed, has been vandalized. That’s right, people, someone chose to pick beef with our beloved bovine.

The cow, affectionately known as The Clearwater Junction Steer, has been a roadside treasure of Montana for a long time. But last week, it fell victim to some “udderly” senseless vandalism.

According to a social media post from the Clearwater Stop N' Go, the cow appears to have the words RESIST! painted across the side of the cow.

Authorities are investigating, but for now, the owners are asking that anyone with information report it to the police. So the next time you whiz by Clearwater Junction, take a second to tip your (imaginary) cowboy hat to this Montana roadside icon. It’s landmarks like these that make Montana more than just a map — it’s home.
