We Miss Raging At Testy Fest. Balls, Butts and Beer (Pics)
The World Famous Testicle Festival at The Rock Creek Lodge would have kicked off today (RIP). Let's take a trip down memory lane, shall we?
Many out-of-staters and Missoula newcomers will never believe the stories of Testy Fest. As a 3-year host and festival organizer, I still can't believe some of the things I witnessed.
The festival itself is centered around a simple idea. A good old-fashioned party with live music, drinks, motorcycles, and fried cow testicles. You know, a normal Montana shindig. Somehow over the years, it grew to what I can only explain as a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah, but with way more old naked people. Seriously. We even had a 60+ wet t-shirt contest. The campsites were always packed with characters that would bring their own hot tubs and stripper poles. If you ever accidentally wandered into "Pervert Alley" or "Orgy Corner" you should walk down to the river and ask for forgiveness.
Speaking of contests, the weekend was always crammed with crazy events like the "Undy 500" where you and a team member would do a relay race on giant tricycles in your underwear. Of course, beer chugging was a part of the rules.
One year we did "Naked Twister". Normally it would be kind of cool, but again, the medium age of the players was around 60 years old. I still cry myself to sleep years later.
It wasn't all balls and weiners, however. This festival really was world famous. Every year we had tons of media outlets and reality t.v shows show up to cover the chaos or film their episode. I was personally in 2 reality t.v shows, and featured in Vice Magazine and more. Check out the trailer clip for the Canadian reality/competition show "Get Stuffed" below.
Alas due to many different and unfortunate circumstances, the Testicle Festival is no more. However, K.C and I got a re-birth last year when we were flown to Illinois to help the Real Housewives of New York host their own version. I'm Serious. The episode is streaming on Peacock right now.
The last we had heard, the lodge had been thoroughly remodeled and was put on the market. As far as a future for another Testy Fest, we'll just have to cross our fingers. For now, all we have are the insane stories and memories that we probably don't want to remember, but will never forget. -S
