10 Weirdest Collaborations in Rock + Metal History
These collabs aren’t necessarily bad, just very strange. Like the bizarre partnership between Sting and Shaggy, these collaborations will make you think, “Why tf does this exist?”
For many, Christmas is the best time of the year, but not when it’s mid-November and the public is being pummeled by holiday music. Some of the weirdest collabs happen for the holidays, like Ozzy Osbourne joining Jessica Simpson for a vomit-inducing rendition of “Winter Wonderland.” Who would have expected Ozzy to use more autotune than Jessica?
Did you know Marilyn Manson recorded a track with DMX for the rapper’s Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood album? Manson and DMX actually trade verses in “The Omen,” with the Antichrist Superstar delivering a creepy, spoken word performance. It’s actually pretty awesome, and that beat is dark as hell.
Jack White and Insane Clown Posse are yet another unlikely team on this list. White contributed guitar to “Leck Mich Im Arsch,” which is about Mozart getting his bunghole licked. No, really. Mozart actually composed a piece called “Lick Me in the Arse,” which was discovered after his death and abruptly changed to “Let Us Be Glad” for posterity’s sake. Still, ICP got their hands on the composition and brought the piece back to its dirty roots.
