Western Montana Law Enforcement Torch Run For Special Olympics Starts Saturday
The Western Montana Law Enforcement Torch Run kicks off this weekend. Assistant Director Truman Tolson explains.
“The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is a grass roots fundraiser to raise funds and awareness for athletes that have intellectual disabilities,” said Tolson. “We will be running this Saturday from Drummond to Missoula.”
According to Tolson, the final leg of the state run will take place on Wednesday in Missoula.
“That will take place at 5 p.m. at First Interstate Bank downtown,” Tolson said. “We will be running from East Front and Higgins. Then we will go across the Higgins Street Bridge down to 6th Street and into the Adams Center Complex and on to Washington Grizzly Stadium.”
Tolson says the Missoula County Sheriff’s Department, Ravalli County Sheriff’s Department and Missoula Police Department will all participate in the run this year.
