Jefferson White Hints Yellowstone’s 6666 Spinoff Is Unlikely
When Yellowstone first rolled out Jimmy Hurdstrom, he wasn’t a clean-living cowboy type who believed he owned the place. He was living in a trailer. A mess. Barely holding it together. And when Rip Wheeler banged on his door to drag him to the Dutton Ranch, Jimmy was blasting Tool so loud it felt nostalgic.
I remember thinking, this dude has GOTTA be listening to 96.3 The Blaze.
That moment hooked me. Not because Jimmy was hard or hardcore, but because he seemed genuine. He was awkward. And somehow still trying. Which is a dangerous combo when it comes to characters, because once you’ve invested, there’s no turning back.
Jimmy Had One Of The Best Characters on Yellowstone
Jimmy didn’t just survive Yellowstone. He earned his place. Slowly. Painfully. By way of broken bones and poor decisions.
Through the seasons, he made his way from Montana to the fabled 6666 Ranch in Texas. It just felt like the next step. A guy who required discipline, structure, and a certain amount of distance from the trouble in Montana that nearly got him killed a few times. When the buzz about a 6666 spinoff began, it seemed like the final season of "Yellowstone" set it up, and all Taylor Sheridan needed to do was knock it out of the park.
Now It Sounds Like The 6666 Spinoff Might Not Be Going Down
It sounds like the long-rumored 6666 spinoff might never be, Jefferson White (Jimmy) told Whiskey Riff in a recent interview. He didn’t sound bitter. Just realistic. Grateful for what he got to do, and realistic about the likelihood of TV projects making it to screen.
That’s the part that stings. Not because we should get a spinoff just because, but because it seemed deserved. Jimmy wasn’t a gimmick. He was relatable.
If That’s The End, It Wasn’t Bad
If Jimmy’s ride really is over, I’m fine with how it shook out. He didn’t flame out. He didn’t turn cartoonish. He became competent. Confident. Grounded. Not to mention he landed a hot fiancée in the process.
Some characters stick with you. Jimmy’s one of them.
